AMX 8.2 now in release

The new software version 8.2 for the AMX alarm server was released for sale on March 1, 2009. This is an interim release with new features for GSM positioning and WLAN communication.

  • Integration of the globally renowned, WLAN-based ekahau localization solution.
  • Localization of people in emergency situations using the GSM positioning solution from the Swiss system integrator AidComm AG, based in Cham, Switzerland

Advantages for the customer:

  • Keeps costs down: quickly tracks down mobile medical and other technical devices using WLAN tagging and automated messaging in case of unauthorized movement.
  • Patient safety: the WLAN badge tracks down patients with dementia the moment they leave their assigned zone; an emergency alert can also be issued by pulling a ripcord.
  • Independence of existing telephony infrastructure when developing man-down applications with the new in-house localization solution, based on wireless, autonomous GSM transmitters.
